Whilst trying to avoid the farce that was the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday night, I ended up tuning into Virgin Radio Xtreme which is my latest radio station of favour after abandoning XFM in search of a station that doesn't repeat the same tracks every hour without fail.
Anyway, they played the song "Morden" by Good Shoes. I live and work not a million miles from Morden and have had the misfortune on several occasions to attend meetings there. My friends and I have nicknamed the place Mordor as it is also a "Land of Shadow" - in this case of the huge Civic Centre that dominates the skies.
The Knowhere Guide sums up the feelings of some locals quite well:

- At least it isn't Croydon
- The tube so you can get away from this hell hole
- It's not Mitcham
- Um, let me think....um....um
- Get out of Morden while you can because its only going to get worse.
Im from Morden, Abbotsbury Rd. One word...Shithole! Nice one bringing the terror of Morden to the internet community's attention.Apart from the fantastic Morden Hall Park, I couldn't agree more.

You know it's going to be one of those days when you have to come in especially early to cover for co-workers who are abroad sunning themselves. I faced this lovely prospect when I awoke slightly bemused at quarter past five this morning wondering why it wasn't half past eight as per usual.
Of course with the BH Monday it meant that I had even more work to get through before the usual morning scrumdown as well as putting together the two lots of presentations for the big company meeting tomorrow.
Some eight hours later, after having to miss lunch, the working day is done. Only two more weeks of this....

Thanks to a mate of mine (cheers Mr P), I'm lucky enough to be going to see Muse at Wembley stadium in June. Really looking forward to it as I've heard that seeing them live is a real treat. I was on YouTube the other day looking for cover versions of Knights of Cydonia, I came across a few "interesting" versions but then stumbled across the following vid.

Ok, I thought I'd give this blogging lark another go - two previous blogs, the first had the grand sum of one entry with the second fairing a little better with five.
Have spent a few hours this Bank Holiday Monday tweaking the template and thinking of a suitably mysterious name for the blog. Ümlaut is a name that has been kicking around my mind for a while now - I intended to use it for a band name when I eventually pulled my act together and started recording these scraps of song ideas that have been going around my head over the last few years, alas I continually fail to find the time to actually record anything.
Maybe one day, eh?
